With growing number of Mumbaikars choosing Padgha Goat Farms for Palai, the pressure has been mounting on the owner of M Pathan Goat Farm ’Usman Pathan to shift base. The farm has finally decided to jump on the bandwagon and shift to Padgha after Bakra Eid June 2024.

The farm is currently filled to capacity in Mira Road and accommodate new goats in Mira Road, however with the growing number of clients, it became imperative for the farm to find a bigger space to accommodate more number of Goats. Mumbai does offer bigger space, however find a farm land at an economical price is just next to impossible with the rising real estate prices. It made business sense for M. Pathan Goat Farm to shift to Padgha as renting al farm will be comparatively cheaper there.

There are several advantages & disadvantages of shifting from Mira Road to Padgha for Usman Pathan. Let us look at some of the advantages of opening a goat farm in Padgha

  1. Padgha is now the hub of Palai Farms with major Palai farms like JD and MD operating from Padgha.

  2. Operating from Palai Hub means attracting more clients who like to visit Padgha every weekend to see their goats on Palai and also for dinner at nearby Dhabas in Bhiwandi.

  3. Farm Rent in Padgha is cheaper than Mumbai so business-wise it makes more sense shifting to Padgha.

  4. Padgha has much less pollution compared to Mira Road. Good environment will help in good weight gain results for goats & lesser health issues for goats & Goat Farmer.

Here are some of the disadvantages of shifting to Padgha from Mira Road:

  1. Cut Throat competition: Padgha is now home to several palai farms.

  2. Price: Usman bhai could have offered palai at higher rate in Mira Road. Now he will have to compete with farms in that area that charge same or lesser palai rate.

  3. Distance: Traveling to Padgha is not easy. It takes away 5 hours of total time from Mumbai. Many people chose M. Pathan for palai as it was in main city and traveling was not that much of an issue. The farm now loses that advantage and will have to rely to its name and aggressive marketing to attract clients.

Let us hope Usman Bhai manages to attract palai clients in Padgha. For those who are wondering about Farm’s location in Padgha, we shall share the exact location soon, however just to give you an idea, this farm will be very close to  Choudhary Goat Farm and Exotic Goat Farm.
